Live streams to keep you grooving through lockdown

In collaboration with Dalston's Soda

It’s safe to say this wasn’t how we imagined this year going, and most of us want nothing for than to have a night out with our mates. But, fear not, lockdown music sessions are being streamed live to your phone/laptop from some of your favourite DJ’s and musicians. While it might not be quite the same, get your friends on a zoom call and start a new kind of party.

I’ve put together a collection of some epic live streams and playlists to get the weekend started.

Unit 58

Unit 58 is a fresh new space in North East London, hosting an eclectic range of events across all musical genres. Don't miss the launch of their new series of live streams featuring a diverse range of DJ's and artist.

Get all the live action via their Instagram page at 9pm every Wednesday, which will be uploaded to their website and available to watch at any time.

Lift off is Wednesday 29/04 with Matt Pedro, a regular resident DJ at Unit 58 & The Loft, bringing a blend of UKG and Electronic vibes.

Quarantunes

If you’re clamouring for some upbeat songs to keep you going, the team at NME have put together a collection of songs to keep those spirits high – discover some tunes you may not have heard before and boogie on down to dance floor pleasers. There’s something for everyone.

NTS – Poolside Mix Tape

Poolside parties maybe put on hold this summer, but that doesn’t stop us from day dreaming. Grab an ice cold drink of choice, run a bath and have a good old soak whilst enjoying (on blast) an infinite loop of some of NTS’ most sun-kissed mixes, taking you from ‘80s Japanese hits by Yellow Magic Orchestra to the blissful sounds of Sade, via the sophisti-pop of Scritti Politti and godfather of AOR, Michael McDonald.

Coldplay

For some heartfelt acoustic sounds, Coldplay’s Chris Martin gave what felt like a very intimate live performance to their 11.5million fans on Instagram – answering to song requests and giving shout outs from his own home.

Boiler Room

Starting as a webcam taped to a wall in a London warehouse, Boiler Room is an independent music platform connecting club culture to the wider world through events, and live streams

They gave electronic music fans all a great reason to log into a public Zoom call last weekend to listen to a special DJ performance from Floating Points. Get a glimpse into bedrooms across the world as people tuned in and danced away with their webcams switched on!

Bringing the clubbing vibes into your own home - every Saturday from midday with their brand-new live streaming series: Dalston's x Deviate Lockdown Sessions

Order a round of drinks in via the virtual bar, which supports local east London suppliers and leave a tip for our DJ’s chosen charity partner.

**20% of all Dalston's drinks sales will be donated to Hackney Food Bank**

Hopefully this will keep you entertained for during these strange times. I'd love to hear what you’ve been getting up to – and hopefully catch you tuning into a live set and buying a round at their virtual bar soon!
